Rachael Stonier, Director

Rachael Stonier has history as a competitive outrigger and interestingly it is her experience in this often demanding and challenging sport that best describes her as an individual as well as an accountant, business advisor and specialty retirement village consultant.

She is of course, a natural high achiever - committed and determined.

Add to this strength, stamina and courage and you’ve pretty much got the picture of someone whose small stature belies her significant abilities.

She is quietly spoken and thoughtful, the result of having considerable breadth as well as depth in her field.

Though Rachael has significant knowledge across all aspects of business accounting, she has special interest in retirement village management consulting.

Early in her career, she was employed as an in-house accountant for an entrepreneurial developer - among his vast business interests, a chain of retirement villages.

The diversity of this role provided exposure to a wide range of corporate and accounting scenarios and in particular, the often complex nature of developing and managing retirement facilities and their particular client base.

Since that time, Rachael’s specialised knowledge has broadened further in keeping with the broad spectrum legislative changes that now affect what is a rapidly growing industry.

Today, Rachael provides specialised retirement industry accounting and business advisory services.

As Focus PG’s representative, in their role of Industry Partner for leading retirement and aged care organisations Aged Care Queensland and Retirement Village Association Australia (RVA), Rachael provides consulting services for members and represents each organisation and other major stakeholders at various aged care industry events by facilitating workshops and guest speaking at conferences.

Rachael is also involved in the Retirement Industry from a community perspective, working to foster a clearer understanding of the financial aspects of retirement living for residents.

A member of the Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network, Rachael is committed to furthering business education for women and as such has volunteered her time to conduct business mentoring workshops covering all aspects of business accounting, business planning, cashflow , setting and achieving KPIs among other valuable topics.

Rachael grew up in the beachside town of Yeppoon in Central Queensland and as a graduate, began her professional career in a traditional accounting firm in nearby Rockhampton. She joined FocusPG in 2005, becoming a director in 2007.
